Coinplus takes your crypto security seriously, implementing robust measures to safeguard your digital assets. The physical integrity of your Coinplus card is paramount in ensuring the effectiveness of these security features. While the card is designed to be sturdy, it requires careful handling to prevent any inadvertent damage.
Under the Secret 1 and Secret 2 labels lies your private key – a digital password granting you control over your digital funds. Losing or damaging your card, rendering these secrets unreadable, poses a significant risk. In such a scenario, no one can assist you, and you could permanently lose control of your funds.
To check the authenticity of your card, tapping it on the phone using NFC (Near Field Communication) is necessary. In case you damage your card the NFC inside the card can be damaged as well. In that case we will not be able to check the authenticty of your card.
If you suspect damage to your card, follow these steps:
Step 1
Check Secret 1 and Secret 2 Labels: Ensure that the security labels are intact and readable. If you've already removed them previously, confirm their readability.
Step 2
Tap the Card: Attempt to tap the card on your phone. If the Coinplus link appears, the damage may not be severe. However, if nothing happens, unfortunately, the NFC chip is likely damaged.
Next Steps:
If Labels Are Intact: If the security labels are undamaged, and the NFC chip is operational, your funds are secure. Exercise caution and continue using your card.
If NFC Is Damaged: If the NFC chip is damaged, we recommend purchasing a new Coinplus card and transferring your funds there. This ensures continued security and access to your crypto assets.
If the Secret 1 and Secret 2 are not readable: If the Secret 1 and Secret 2 are not readable anymore unfortunatley nothing can be done if you didn't activated your card previously and don't have the private key in the app. Secret 1 and Secret 2 are printed on the card only once by 2 independent entities and no one else has your private key.
While Coinplus prioritizes security, users play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of their cards. Following recommended practices and utilizing security features effectively contribute to a safe and secure crypto storage experience with Coinplus.
